  • 13 Dec 2011, talk Inge Alferink (Radboud University) 11-11.45, title: tba; talk Patricia Dreidemie (University of Río Negro, Argentina), 11.45-12.30, title: Language migration, proposals for case studies: mixed Quechua and Jopará in Argentina. Abstract: This talk introduces an ethnographic and linguistic first approach to mixed Quechua (QIIC), extending the discussion to Jopará (Guaraní), both heritage languages spoken by immigrants in (semi)urban contexts of Argentina (Buenos Aires and Río Negro provinces). The research focuses on language in interaction, analyzing forms in terms of their pragmatic and indexical relevance in specific ways of speaking and in concrete settings. The project adopts the perspective of Contact Linguistics, especially pertaining to questions of creolization in languages and migration. (NOTE: the talk will be in Spanish, although the debate may be in English or bilingual), room E1.06
